MobiAssist – Mobilisierungs-Assistent für Demenz-Patienten
A dementia is not only associated with a decrease in mental performance (especially memory), but also with a decrease in physical activity and physical abilities. The physical and psychological resources of caregivers are particularly strained in this situation. The aim of the MobiAssist project is therefore to increase the physical activity of patients and caregivers in order to improve their physical and mental abilities and, in a further step, to relieve the burden on caregivers. An ICT-based mobility assistance system for patients with dementia and their relatives is being developed and evaluated in the care setting. ICT stands for information and communication technology. A new concept of human-technology interaction for patients with dementia is being developed. It focuses on biographical content, movements, gestures, language, music, games, fun and emotions, taking into account the care situation of relatives and professional carers. By installing the system at home, it is possible to train as often and as long as you want.
